LittleLions-Rubgy has exciting news! We will be starting Sunday sessions from Autumn Term 2014…please help us spread the word.
We are delighted to announce that our fun, play based skills classes for 2.5 – 7 year olds will be starting on Sunday 7th September at Leodiensian’s RUFC and we look forward to hearing Little Leo Lions roar! Do you know a potential Little Leo Lion?
Our first goal is to seek support from existing club members at Leo’s with children who are currently too young to be involved in the club’s usual activities. We think that helping young children learn the value of teamwork through having fun is a great way to help little ones appreciate just how great being involved in sport can be. Mark Winter of Leodiensian’s told us he hopes this will sow the seeds for bringing through future players and ensuring that Old Leo’s remains firmly on the map for many more years to come.
Of course the wider community regardless of previous connections with the Club will be warmly welcomed and we can’t wait to meet the next pride of LittleLions!
For anyone who doesn’t know us, we operate a programme of games and drills to help develop the ‘whole child’ using the FUN-damentals of physical literacy for kids. We all know how important exercise is for children of all ages and we also know that socialisation of children through play leads to the development of inquisitive minds and enhance their learning experiences at home and at nursery/school. All of our coaches come from Leeds Metropolitan University and all are not only studying sports related courses but are passionate about making a difference to the way sports classes are delivered to kids. “The energy they bring and their theoretical sports knowledge gained through their studies has definitely been instrumental in making our sessions such a success…the children love the innovative way they make skills training fun”, said Mike Roberts, Principal Coach, LittleLions-Rugby.
